Three writs issued by New Haven, Conn., Justice of the Peace Charles Chauncey in 1787, and four receipts from Jeremiah Evarts to Chauncey for payments made in behalf of students attending Yale College in 1806 and 1807. Evarts studied law in Judge Chauncey's office.
